The opportunity to work alongside some of the most talented artists and technicians in the film industry provided Colin with a deep understanding of lighting techniques together with a desire to draw out exceptional and nuanced performances from his subjects. These skills are now applied to his advertising and sports assignments which convey a powerful sense of drama and strength. On commercial assignments he strives to create the most graphic distillation of the brief and recent campaigns for major brands have included Nike, Hunter and BT Sport. In addition to advertising commissions and editorial celebrity portraits he regularly shoots concept-driven key art for film, television and music productions. From briefing to shooting he adopts a collaborative approach throughout the image making process. Increasingly, commercial productions incorporate the digital capture of print campaigns alongside moving image and much of his work is now produced within this framework. His photographs have twice been selected for exhibition at the Taylor Wessing Portrait Award and several works are now included in the permanent collection of the National Portrait gallery.
